The Knights-in-training have expressed a fascination with the new alchemy of reactions. The other day I was telling my knights-in-training about a recent discovery by my cook: he accidentally knocked some baking soda into a tankard of vinegar and next thing he knows, the lid is knocked back like a ghost had opened it. Upon investigation he discovered it was the baking soda and vinegar reacting in a way to make a gaseous effluvia that propelled the lid into an open position. (At first I assumed my cook had been tippling again!) My Cook showed me this with a contraption he called a rocket. I then had my two knights, Lady Olivia and Sir Eli demonstrate the "soda rockets" to my knights, who all swore they had heard of such doings in their villages. I am fortunate to have such forward thinking knights-in-training.
Today I had a specialist in alchemy demonstrate several popping, sparking, and hovering fire "works" to my knights-in-training. They greatly enjoyed the alchemical theatrics, as did I.
I see a long and continuing future to the knighthood!
God Save the King!
