If It's Wednesday, It Must Be Stew Day! (part 1)

The apprentices took a turn in the kitchen today, helping to take care of their own board.  First we studied the Franklin Stove in terms of Ben's on-going investigation into convection currents.  (The forming of lightning from air currents; the movements of the jet stream, trade winds, and ocean currents; and the movement of heat in a room and oven.)  Then we set out to build our own ovens, to see how we could compare with Ben's when it came to cooking.

Master Holden and Master Gus apply some Ben's specialized thin metal to a side of the oven.

Journeywoman Sophie helps Master Holden measure some of Ben's specialized thin metal.

The apprentices decided to follow an ingenious plan set forth by some apprentice girl forest scouts frowm western Jersey: their link is below.  Go to page 16 for the information.
