The Mail Post Logistical Problem

Ben asked me, Journeyman Woody, to test the apprentices concerning a logic problem.  So I decided to see if they could recreate Ben's solutions to the Mail Post problems of the colonies, before the Revolution.  I showed them a map of the Colonies,

and asked the apprentices to figure out how best to send mail from one city to another.  And from a village by a city to a distant village.

The apprentices were brilliant, hitting upon Ben's plans of improving roads and bridges, having riders go back and forth between cities, and riders collecting from between villages and the main city.
We also took some calculations about rates of speed and are working out how to measure distance by time.

I think Ben will be very pleased with these apprentices.
