Philosophy Weeks Begins with the Question: What is the Self(ie)?

What is the essential self?  According to Descartes, the self is that part of you that know you are thinking: I think therefore I am.  All else can be an illusion.

So the young philosophers tried to capture their thinking self in a selfie, and their essential self as well.
